Harmonious Home works directly with advocacy and resource agencies, such as the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence and The MacGuire Center to identify clients.

Harmonious Home is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and does not discriminate based on the basis of race, sex (or gender) or ability in its activities or programming. 

Harmonious Home helps prepare and design living spaces for clients who are moving from transitional homes or shelters to apartments or small homes. 

The process of moving is hard enough, but a creative team of Harmonious Home designers and volunteers help facilitate a smooth transition. 

The team thoughtfully:

• assesses the clients' needs
• acquires furniture and home accessories
• designs and plans each room
• arranges furniture deliveries and placements
• collect and review client feedback

In the end, clients are able to walk into well-designed and fully-furnished homes, giving them more time to focus on other aspects of rebuilding their lives.

Donations come from people like you and from our very generous corporate partners.

Furniture, bedding, accessories, etc. that has been cleaned and possibly used, but appears new and has no signs of wear and no flaws.

Our clients are in the middle of a courageous transition when Harmonious Home enters the picture. In most cases, they are leaving behind a life of homelessness and/or domestic violence while holding or seeking a full-time job and carrying for dependents, such as young children and/or elderly parents. 

They are learning how to live independently and gaining new life skills. Incredibly, many of them undergo this transformation while navigating the judicial system and/or other resources to protect them and their families, and sometimes while speaking English as a second language, if at all.

Harmonious Home removes the burden of setting up their new home living spaces. We thoughtfully furnish and design each room so that our clients feel that they can walk into retreats of tranquility. We want our clients to feel comfortable, safe and supported and work thoughtfully and diligently to achieve this. See some of the things our clients are saying here.
